Frequently Asked Questions

How do I import my audio files?

On iPhone/iPad, tap the + button in the Sources tab and select files from the Files app. You can also set up an iCloud folder for automatic syncing. On Mac, go to Settings and choose a library folder — Flacseed will reference files in place without copying them.

What audio formats does Flacseed support?

Flacseed plays FLAC, ALAC (Apple Lossless), WAV, AIFF, MP3, AAC, and most common audio formats. For bit-perfect playback, we recommend lossless formats like FLAC or ALAC.

What does "Verified Bit-Perfect" mean?

When you see "Verified Bit-Perfect" in the fidelity badge, it means Flacseed has exclusive access to your audio output and the sample rate matches your file exactly. Your audio is playing without any resampling or processing by the operating system.

How does the binaural beat analyzer work?

Flacseed uses FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) analysis to detect the actual frequencies present in your audio. When two carriers with a small frequency difference are detected, we calculate and display the beat frequency. This is a measurement of your audio file, not a marketing claim.

Can I restore my purchase on a new device?

Yes. Go to Settings in the app and tap "Restore Purchases." As long as you're signed into the same Apple ID, your purchase will be restored. Flacseed is a universal purchase — one payment covers iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Why isn't my radio stream working?

Flacseed supports Icecast streams in FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, and MP3 format. Make sure your stream URL is correct and the station is online. Some streams may require specific URL formats — try adding or removing the port number, or check for an .m3u playlist file that contains the actual stream URL.

How do I export a mix I created?

In Studio, open your mix and tap the render/export button. Flacseed will render your layered mix to a new FLAC file that you can add to your library or share.

Does Flacseed work offline?

Yes. Once your audio files are on your device, Flacseed works completely offline. The only features that require internet are radio streaming and App Store purchase verification.
